Deposit Policy & License
Requirements for depositing content in eCommons
- The work must be wholly or in part produced or sponsored by Cornell faculty, researchers, staff, or students. Work by undergraduate students must have a Cornell faculty or administrative sponsor and, when appropriate, have any necessary FERPA releases.
- The work must be educational or research-oriented and otherwise meet the eCommons Content Collection Policy.
- The work must be in digital form.
- The work must be complete and ready for distribution, and the author/owner must be prepared to deposit the complete digital work in eCommons.
- The submission does not contain any confidential information, proprietary information of others or export controlled information.
- There are no restrictions or required publication delays on the distribution of the submission by Cornell University, beyond those that are permissible according to the eCommons access and use policy.
- The information you provide about the submission is accurate. Please see Metadata tips for guidance on describing your content.
- The author/owner must be willing and able to grant Cornell University Library the eCommons Deposit License (see below).

By agreeing to this license, you (the author(s) or copyright owner) grant to the Cornell University Library (CUL) the non-exclusive right to reproduce, translate (as defined below), and/or distribute your submission (including the abstract) worldwide in print and electronic format and in any medium now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to audio or video.
You agree that CUL may, without changing the content, translate the submission to any medium or format for the purposes of preservation, web accessibility, improving user experience, or similar purposes.
You also agree that CUL may keep more than one copy of this submission for purposes of security, back-up and preservation.
You represent that the submission is your original work, and that you have the right to grant the rights contained in this license. You also represent that your submission does not, to the best of your knowledge, infringe upon anyone's copyright.

FERPA AUTHORIZATION (for students)
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects educational records of students. Students whose educational works appear in eCommons must give permission to Cornell University to provide online access to their work. Material deposited in eCommons is openly accessible worldwide over the Web.
By depositing content in eCommons, you agree to make your work publicly accessible in furtherance of the University's educational and research mission.
