Receiving notifications of new content
New content notifications
There are two ways to be notified of new content in eCommons: via syndication feed, and via email.
Syndication feed
The syndication icon (previously called RSS or Atom feeds) are located at the top right of every community or collection landing page next to the gear icon. Select syndication button and either follow the steps indicated in your web browser (if you use a browser that supports the reading of newsfeeds), or paste the URL into your preferred news reader.
Email subscription
To subscribe to email notifications for new content in a collection:
- Log in to your eCommons account.
- Navigate to the collection or community of interest
- Click the bell icon located next to the collection or community title
- Select the frequency you would like to receive the content (daily, weekly, monthly). Note: you should see a notification that you successfully subscribed at the top right of your screen in green.
- To review your subscriptions, select the account dropdown menu (person in circle icon) in the upper right of the eCommons page you are on (next to "Help") and navigate to "Subscriptions".
You may remove unwanted subscriptions from your profile at any time. To unsubscribe:
- Log in to your eCommons account.
- Navigate to the account dropdown menu (person in circle icon) in the upper right of the eCommons page you are on (next to "Help") and select "Subscriptions".
- Click the edit icon (pencil on paper) to adjust frequency of subscription OR click the trashcan icon to delete your subscription.
