Location and Walking Directions:
The Map Collection is located in room B17, in the basement level of Olin Library. When you enter the Library, immediately take a left to descend to the basement. When you reach Level B, walk straight ahead to enter the Reading Room. After you enter the reading room access the Map Collection through the door towards the left corner(along the wall of Micrographic equipment).
Introduction
The Map Collection in Olin Library offers instruction, reference, and consulting as well as computer hardware, software, and access to a wide range of geospatial resources. Currently, it contains print and digital maps, books and atlases, and compact disc's. The collections and services are available to all students, faculty, and staff of Cornell University and also to visitors from outside the University.
Map Staff are available to answer your questions, to help you identify pertinent materials, and to assist you in using the map storage area. They can help you to locate and interpret maps for your research or for classroom presentation, to locate data for your GIS, and to use a variety of digital mapping programs. If you would need more extensive research assistance than is available on a walk-in, email, or phone basis, please use our online request form to schedule a consultation.
