- American Historical ReviewAmerican Historical Review is the oldest scholarly journal of history in the United States and the largest in the world. Published by the American Historical Association, it covers all areas of historical research.
- Business History ReviewThis periodical is a good secondary source on American business history, including history of labor relations and personnel management.
- Compensation and Working Conditions byThis journal was published, under various titles, by the BLS from 1948-2012. Earlier issues contain information on collective bargaining contract provisions. Unfortunately, this type of analysis was discontinued in the early 1980s. The journal was published in web form until 2012, when the content was incorporated into Monthly Labor Review.
- Industrial and Labor Relations ReviewCall Number: ILR Reference HD4802 .I42Issued quarterly since October 1947, the Industrial & Labor Relations Review is a leading interdisciplinary journal publishing original research on all aspects of the employment relationship. This site contains the full text of articles and book reviews dating from April 2003 (Vol. 56, No. 3). All visitors can view and download (a) any book review archived in this site and (b) any archived article that is 1-1/2 years old or older. Subscribers can, in addition, view and download recent and current articles. The ILR Review is also available in the library, through many business periodical databases and as a print publication.
- International Labor and Working Class HistoryThis is a good source for academics who want to examine international issues. Includes reviews of recent publications.
- Journal of Labor ResearchThis journal, from George Mason University, contains important studies about labor unions and collective bargaining.
- Labor's HeritageEach issue contains feature articles with accompanying illustrations and photos. Articles are very readable and include extensive references.
- Labor HistoryLabor History publishes original research in labor history, studies of specific unions and of the impact of labor problems upon ethnic and minority groups, the nature of work and class life, theories of the labor movement, biographical portraits of important labor figures, comparative studies and analyses of foreign labor movements that shed light on American labor developments, and studies of radical groups or of radical history as they relate to American labor history.
- Labor Studies JournalLabor Studies Journal is the official journal of the United Association for Labor Education (UALE). It contains research about work, workers, labor organizations, and labor studies and worker education in the US and internationally.
- Labour History ReviewThis is a good secondary source for labor history in the United Kingdom. It provides an annual bibliography of labor history publications.
- Monthly Labor ReviewEstablished in 1915, Monthly Labor Review is the principal journal of fact, analysis, and research from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, an agency within the U.S. Department of Labor. As of 2012, the journal Compensation and Working Conditions was incorporated into Monthly Labor Review.
- Trade Union Publications: The Official Journals, Convention Proceedings, and Constitutions of International Unions and Federations, 1850-1941 byVolume 1 contains a listing of trade unions and their publications. It also contains a brief chronology for the unions listed. Volumes 2 and 3 contain a subject listing to point to individual articles in trade union publications. The time period covered is 1850-1941.

Published since 1964, the database comprises over 530,000 bibliographic entries for periodicals dating back to 1954. Additional bibliographical entries are constantly added to the databases from editorial projects such as retrospective coverage of journals issues published prior to 1954.
- Applied Science & Business Periodicals RetrospectiveIndex and Abstracts of academic journals, magazines, and trade publications from 1913-1983. Useful for researching technology and other scientific development, business strategies over time, companies and trade unions. Includes the complete Industrial Arts Index from 1913-1957. Broad coverage of the applied sciences literature for this time period.
- American PeriodicalsAmerican Periodicals includes two full text resources: American Periodicals Series Online (APS Online) and American Periodicals from the Center for Research Libraries. Both contain digitized images of American special interest and general magazines, labor and trade publications, scientific and literary journals, and photographic periodicals, as well as other historically significant titles, from the 19th century through the dawn of the 20th century. Because the database contains digitized images of periodical pages, researchers can see all of the original typography, drawings, graphic elements, and article layouts exactly as they were originally published.
- Historical AbstractsPublished since 1954, Historical Abstracts currently covers over 1,700 journals published worldwide in over forty languages. The database comprises over 720,000 entries from periodicals, with full-text links to over 135,000 articles and dissertations and masters' theses. Each year, the editors of Historical Abstracts add over 16,000 abstracts and citations, over 3,000 book citations, and over 1,200 citations of dissertations and masters' theses to the database from the current literature and publications. Additional bibliographical entries are also added to the database by editorial projects such as retrospective coverage of journal issues published prior to 1954.
