To see what's available, go to the Asia Collections home page and choose Resources, then Databases. Choose a country from the Region filter, then Newspapers.and Periodicals from the Subject filter.
China
- China Academic JournalsSome parts of the China Academic Journals database may be inaccessible after April 1, 2023.

If a log-in screen appears, click on "IP login." Cornell University Welcome will show at the top of the screen. From the scrolling images on the page, choose Chinese Periodical Full-Text Database. The click on "Use" option -- wait for connection to database.
- Chinese Old Journals 大成老旧刊全文数据库Catalog Title: Dacheng lao jiu kan quan wen shu ju ku. A full-text Chinese database contains 1.3 million journal articles in 120,000 issues in over 6,000 journals published from the late 19th century to 1949. (There is an English language option at the top of the page)
- National Index to Chinese Newspaper and Periodicals (Quan Guo Bao Kan Suo Yin)This database includes an index to 15,000,000 article titles from 15,000 newspapers and periodicals published in China since 1857.
- Chao Xing Qi kang (Superstar Journals Database)7,400 full-text Chinese journals and more than 1,300 Core journals. Database covers many disciplines, including engineering, agronomy, social science, cultural, education, philosophy, and medicine.
- Chinese Students' MonthlyThe Chinese Students’ Monthly is the first magazine published by Chinese students in the United States from 1906-1931. This publication became the official organ of the enlarged Chinese student organization, the Chinese Students’ Alliance in the US.
Japan
- Magazine PlusMagazine Plus is an article index that complements the Zasshi Kiji Sakuin Shusei with the inclusion of the Janaru Indekkusu (Journal Index), which has citations for articles in popular magazines, as well as economics and business magazines.
- "Zassaku Plus" (Zasshi Kiji Sakuin Shusei )-- Comprehensive Japanese Article IndexComprehensive Japanese Article Index. Get citations for articles in Japanese from 1868 to the present with this enhanced subscription version of the Zasshi Kiji Sakuin (which is freely available from the National Diet Library, but only has articles back to the early 1980s).
- Web OYA BunkoWeb Oya-bunko represents at the article level the holdings of the Oya Soichi Library, renowned for its rare materials on Japanese media and popular culture. Web Oya- bunko adds some 640,000 volumes of 10,000 magazines titles and 70,000 books to our reference range.
- CiNii (NII Scholarly and Academic Information Navigator)Currently the most reliable source for getting full access to recent Japanese academic articles through PDF files. Only some citations are available in full text. Many PDFs are free downloads, but some require payment.
- Lexis Nexis Law Japan(Nihonhō Sōgō Detabesu) In Japanese.
This database provides valuable materials on the Japanese legal system, including full texts of statutes and court rulings, plus an index and some full text coverage of Japanese legal journals. Requires a special password for use. Contact djm53 (Dan McKee) or lawref@cornell.edu for access.

- E-ArticleA database containing full text of over 800 Korean scholarly journals published by 555 research institutions in Korea. Its focus is more on social sciences and humanities.
- RISS InternationalThe Union catalog of academic libraries in Korea provide by the Korea Education & Research Information service. It provides access more than 1 million full text Korean Journal Articles, Theses & Dissertations published in Korea.
- Kyobo ScholarFull text database of scholarly journal articles from more than 1100 journals published in Korea
