ILL and Borrow Direct Policies

Borrow Direct and Interlibrary Loan have resumed. Turnaround times will be somewhat longer this semester.

 

Borrow Direct

  • Turnaround time is slightly longer.

Interlibrary Loan

  • Physical items are now circulating via ILL, with longer than usual turnaround times for now.
  • International shipments are severely limited.
  • Patrons can request scans of articles and book chapters the usual way via the Scan It Request form

 

Returning Borrow Direct and ILL Items

  • Items should be returned as usual. Borrow Direct items can be returned to any library on campus. ILL items should be returned to the location at which they were picked up.
  • Special circumstances: The patron should contact Library Public Services (libpublicservices@cornell.edu)

Cornell Tech

  • If you catch a Chat from a Cornell Tech patron, or one about Cornell Tech services, please create a ticket and send it to Cornell Tech for follow up.  Cornell Tech is listed in the Transfer to: User (below LibAnswers users in the Address Book.)  You can also let patrons know they can contact Cornell Tech Library staff directly at library@tech.cornell.edu.
  • Cornell Tech patrons may access books via Borrow Direct but not ILL
  • Physical book requests from ILL are not available, but ScanIt Services are.
