Browsing the library remotely: Home

Even if we can't walk through the stacks of our wonderful libraries, there are still ways for us to browse the amazing contents of the collections available through the Cornell University Library! This guide will walk you through some of the methods you can use to explore those collections remotely.

This guide will show you how to:

• Call number browse. Have you ever gone into the stacks for one book you're looking for, and then found other useful items on the shelves nearby? Our call number browse feature allows you to do the same thing remotely!
• Browse new books. Many of Cornell's libraries feature displays of our newest and most noteworthy books. Use this feature of our catalog to see what's new at the Cornell University Library!
• Find tables of contents. Sometimes you just need to scan through a book or journal's table of contents to see if it's what you're looking for. This section of the guide describes a number of options to do so from your computer.
