Creating keyword searches
Search the library catalog and databases by connecting just the keywords and phrases of your question. Do not include adverbs, prepositions. interrogatives (why?). By reading/skimming through the resources, you will discover the how, what and why.
For example, to answer the question, "What factors are behind the erosion of reproductive rights in the united states", you would start simply with "united states" AND "reproductive rights"
The library catalog and databases provide ways to limit your search by date. This can be very helpful for getting a more up-to-date view on the topic. For very recent policy changes, you may need to rely more on primary sources (NGO or IGO websites, news articles, etc.) .
You can also use alternate terms in a search, e.g. "united states" AND (reproductive rights OR abortion).
