LaTeX Resources for Graduate Students: Formatting of Cornell theses and dissertations

The Cornell Graduate School has become increasingly flexible about the formatting of theses and dissertations.  There now are only seven core requirements. For the structure of theses and dissertations here is a list of required and recommended sections.

Among the available thesis and dissertation templates provided by the Graduate School is also a LaTeX template (ZIP archive).

In June and July 2025 this LaTeX template has been updated to reflect two bug fixes that were provided by two PhD candidates. Both fixes pertain only to the electronic version of the thesis.

Please feel free to share any bug fixes with me. After confirming, I will relay them to the Graduate School.
