Consortia, Networks, and Partnerships

2CUL - (http://2cul.org/) 2CUL is a partnership between Cornell and Columbia University Libraries.

CRL (http://www.crl.edu/) - The Center for Research Libraries is a consortium of North American universities, colleges, and independent research libraries. The consortium acquires and preserves traditional and digital resources for research and teaching and makes them available to member institutions through interlibrary loan and electronic delivery. Cornell is a member of CRL, and we borrow from them through interlibrary loan. Occasionally selectors are asked to give their opinions about items for possible purchase at CRL.

CIFNAL (https://www.crl.edu/programs/cifnal) - CIFNAL, the Collaborative Initiative for French Language Collections, was founded in 2006 to promote and facilitate the cooperative exchange of ideas and resources between Francophone and North American research libraries.

GNARP (https://www.crl.edu/programs/gnarp) - The German-North American Resources Partnership (GNARP) supports the acquisition, sharing, and use of German-language materials among North American libraries, and the fostering of closer collaboration with German research libraries.

LYRASIS - ( https://www.lyrasis.org/Pages/Main.aspx) - LYRASIS partners with member libraries, archives and museums and other cultural heritage organizations to create, access and manage information with an emphasis on digital content, while building and sustaining collaboration, enhancing operations and technology, and increasing buying power. We collaborate with members to enrich, expand, acquire, digitize, host, support, manage and share their important, and often unique, collections.

NERL (http://nerl.org/) - The NorthEast Research Libraries consortium (NERL), a nonprofit program operating under the auspices of Center for Research Libraries, is comprised of 28 core member academic research libraries and approximately 80 affiliate member academic and/or research libraries. Core members are dues paying academic research libraries responsible for the governance of the consortium, direction of core activities, and strategic planning for the group. Affiliate members pay small administrative fees to join licenses for e-resources that meet their institutional needs. The goal of the consortium is to foster and support the educational and research missions of its member institutions by coordinating, consolidating, and negotiating the best possible licensing terms and prices for electronic resources. NERL offers its members a scholarly forum in which to share information about fundamental issues in academic librarianship with respect to collection, management, budgeting, and advocacy for key concerns in the field. NERL's work is accomplished by a staff of 2.25 FTE, with volunteer participation from an executive board made up of individuals from within its core member libraries.
