Interviews with farmers in the Meghal River Basin.
The Meghal River Basin Oral History Project is a research project funded by the Fulbright-Nehru Scholarship, a research grant promoting mutual understanding between the people of the US and the people of India. Within India, an official affiliation with the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), support from project advisor Dr. Tushaar Shah with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), and also the support of the Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) in the field, has been indispensable to the success of this research project. The fieldwork for the project was conducted in January and February of 2012 and the transcriptions and translations from the 18 individual interviews with farmers from villages in the Meghal River Basin were completed in July of 2012.
