Mapping Society at Cornell
The Mapping Society at Cornell provides students opportunities to engage in mapping and related geospatial activities that address challenges at local, national, and global scales. Students will create, analyze, and share open data and learn to use open source software in this process.
CUGEO, the Cornell Geospatial Forum, is a nearly-annual forum that brings together the campus-wide GIS community to share their projects and make connections with others doing geospatial work.
GISNY-L is an open, unmoderated list developed to promote discussion of GIS-related subjects, particularly GIS issues or projects in New York.
The NYS GIS Association hosts online and in-person workshops, as well as a pair of biennial conferences, the GeoSummit, and the NYGeoCon.
Cornell University is a member of UCGIS, the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science. UCGIS is a non-profit organization that creates and supports communities of practice for GIScience research, education, and policy endeavors in higher education and with allied institutions.
