Getting Started with Research
This guide is an overview of the most valuable print and electronic resources for research in the field of Communication; it will help you find books, popular and scholarly articles and other sources about a particular communication topic.
In this guide you will find:
- Information on the difference between primary & secondary sources, web and library resources, and popular and scholarly sources
- Sources for scholarly resources in Communication & news articles at Cornell University Library, and know how to search them for sources for your research project.
- Different but equally valid ways of conducting your research:
- You can start by finding news or other popular information on your topic, and then searching for related scholarly articles
- Or, it's just as valid to start your research by looking for scientific studies on your topic, and then searching through the popular press and the Web for further information.
- Information to store, organize and manage your references using Zotero.
