Tips for Saving Articles that You Find during Class

If the Get it Cornell link from your database search results doesn't work, try the searching by title option. If that doesn't work, copy the article title and search it in Google Scholar. To display the article, look for a link to an online version in the right column.

Saving articles

If possible, save your articles as PDFs to your hard drive or a USB key. You can also e-mail articles to yourself from a displayed article. Sending the article by e-mail is often an option available in the search and display software. Be sure the e-mailing option offered sends the whole article, not just a link to the article; a link to the article may not work for you from off-campus.

If you can't e-mail the article from within the article software, be sure to download and save the article as a PDF. You can also open your e-mail account in webmail, find the article in the Downloads folder, and send it to yourself as an attachment.
