Doing a Simple Search in PubMed

PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's online database for searching MEDLINE and additional biomedical and life sciences literature. It is one of the most up to date, comprehensive and powerful databases for finding scholarly literature in biomedicine.

There are many ways to search in PubMed, but you can begin by doing a simple search such as "saturated fat heart." The system will suggest additional search terms based on common searches done in the past. In this case, the suggestion is "saturated fat heart disease."

Consulting the PubMed user guide can provide you with tips on effective searching.
