Finding an Article Citation Through Google or Google Scholar

Google or Google Scholar are often the first places people go to find articles. On campus, Cornell works with Google to automatically allow access to articles Cornell has paid for (though this isn't foolproof). Off campus, you have to let Google know you're a Cornell patron who should have access, otherwise it treats you like a unauthorized person and may ask you to pay (DON'T DO THIS!).

How to let Google know you should have access:

  • Use the Passkey bookmarklet
  • Change your Google Scholar settings

Off-Campus? Use the library website or Access Anywhere!

Install the Access Anywhere bookmarklet and make access to full-text articles from off-campus quick and easy!

If you sign into the Library website from off-campus and access articles that way, you should also be able to get to full-text resources to which CUL subscribes.

If Cornell University Library really doesn't have it, don't despair! We can usually get it for you pretty quickly at no cost to you through one of our delivery services.
