Professional Organizations
Professional organizations (often referred to as trade associations) are organizations founded and funded by businesses that operate in a specific industry. Professional organizations participate in public relations activities such as advertising, education, publishing and political action. These organizations often provide industry-level research reports on their websites, and may offer other services, such as producing conferences, setting industry standards, or holding networking events. Examples of professional organizations in the hospitality industry can be found below, and more examples can be found in the Encyclopedia of Associations. The library subscribes to both the International Organizations edition, and the Regional, State, and Local Organizations edition.
