A Starting Point

The Articles & Full-Text search uses EBSCO Discovery Service and draws from many full-text and article-indexing databases as well as digital repositories from colleges, universities, research centers, and other open-access archives on the web.  It allows you to search across all of these at one time and will provide links to our subscription resources.

  • EBSCO Discovery Service searches many but not all library resources.
  • Comprehensive or targeted searches should be done in subject-specific databases (or see list in Box to the right).
  • There is a filter available for Peer Reviewed materials.

Tips for finding articles

Find databases to search for articles:
Once you have chosen a database to search:
  • Choose the advanced or guided searches (usually 3 lines) to help you correctly format your search.
  • Use OR between your search terms to broaden the search to include ANY of the terms.
  • Use AND between your search terms to narrow the search to include ALL of the terms.
  • Find full text within the databases in html or pdf format.
  • Use the GetIt!Cornell to link to full text found outside of the database.
  • Ask a Librarian if you need further help!
