Voices from Ellis Island an oral history of American immigrationInterviews by the National Park Serviced in cooperation with the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation conducted 1985-1986 with immigrants to the United States from around the world, all of whom arrived at Ellis Island between 1892 and 1924. Virtually every nation that contributed sizable ethnic groups to the United States is represented in the oral histories, including Russia, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Great Britain, Poland, Romania, Spain, Syria, Turkey, Greece, Palestine, Egypt, and Japan.
