Going beyond Cornell's holdings

Worldcat is a union catalog of holdings from libraries throughout the world. If there are items in the Worldcat catalog that we don't have here at Cornell, you can submit a BorrowDirect request for the item.

Search tip: It may help to take the subject heading strings from the Cornell Library catalog. You can then break them up into individual subject phrases in Worldcat.

Example: Subject heading and subheadings string from a record in the Cornell Library catalog: Offshore oil industry > Political aspects > Southeast Asia.

In Worldcat, you would enter each section of the subject heading string on a different line and use the pull-down menu to select "Subject Phrase."
