Why Zotero?


Zotero is a powerful, easy-to-use citation management program that helps you gather, organize, and analyze citations and sources such as pdfs and Web sites, and then share the results of your research.  It is an open access, non-profit program.

Zotero was chosen for this class because it allows for unlimited number of peoples to use group folders. Other tools, such as Mendeley charge for more than 3 users.  Zotero charges for more than 300 MB of storage.

Goals for this project are to:

  • search for job ads, current news articles, scholarly articles (, pubmed) - citations, webpages, PDFs
  • organize, tag, create notes, and share this information with colleagues
