Mendeley introduction: after completing the class, students are eligible to sign up for free premium accounts (limited availability).

What is Mendeley?

Mendeley is a reference and papers manager, academic collaboration network and crowdsourced database. Mendeley Desktop is available on Mac, Windows and Linux. Mendeley Web functions on all major browsers. Mobile versions of Mendeley are available for Ipad, Iphone and Android devices.

Mendeley Basic vs. Mendeley Premium - Apply for a limited number of free Cornell Mendeley Premium accounts with the following benefits:

  • Increase in personal library size for each user, from 2 GB to 5 GB
  • Increase in group storage, from 100 MB to 20 GB
  • Increase in private group size, from 3 to 25 members
  • Increase in number of private groups, from one to unlimited

Verify the upgrade by going to your name / Settings/billing/account details.

For graduating students, this works for alumni for one year after graduation.

Note - you must sign up with an institutional email address

Mendeley saves your references in the cloud, but you can also opt to download local copies and automatically rename the PDFs using a naming scheme you specify.
