Requesting Books

Requesting Books via BorrowDirect or Interlibrary Loan:

If the book you are searching for is currently checked out, you may use the "Request" button in the catalog record to find a different copy. In many cases, this Request link will direct you to BorrowDirect. BorrowDirect Deliveries are made to the library you select and will arrive in 3-5 days.
Loans are for 6 weeks, with the option to renew for another six weeks.

If the item isn't available via BorrowDirect (rare!), your item will be requested via Interlibrary Loan.

Recommend a Purchase

You can also ask the library to buy material you think we should have. Recommend a Purchase or learn more about our Library Collections.

Requesting Articles...

Requesting articles:

  1. If you don't find a link to the full text, try the "Get it Cornell" link
  2. If necessary, search the catalog for the journal title (not the article title).
  3. If we don't have the journal, you can place an Interlibrary Loan request.
  4. You will receive an email within 1-3 days with a link to download the article.
