Other Spaces

Mann Library's Lobby is open 24/7 to members of the Cornell Community via Card Swipe Access.

Students may reserve a table in the lobby to display or promote academic resources or events.

The Mann Cafe and the CALS zone are also accessible from the lobby.

Mann's Bloomberg terminals are located through the main doors against the left wall just before the windows.

The Bissett Collaborative Space is a dedicated group workspace located on the second floor of the library.

Graduate Study Area

The Graduate Study Area is located on the third floor of Mann Library and includes the balcony area. Study carrels, cubicles, docking stations, and the collaborative study area are reservable up to 8 hours at a time.

Links to the schedules for each of these can be found here.

Lockers are available by the semester – keys are available at the Help Desk beginning on the first day of each semester.

Quiet Study

In Mann Library, the upper floors (with the exception of the Bissett Collaborative Space and Group Study Rooms) are intended for quiet study, and the Main floor, the Bissett Collaborative space and Group Study rooms are intended for both group and individual study.

We have a range of quiet study spaces available, including rooms, pods, carrels, desks, and many different furniture options.  When designing our quiet study spaces, we leaned heavily on extensive student feedback in an effort to have spaces that would accommodate many different student preferences.

Service Points

Information/Circulation Desk - This is the main desk in Mann Library, located to the right when you first enter the library.  This is where standard check-in and check-out of materials and technology happens, and it's also where you can go to ask any questions about the library.  Some specialized services, most notably poster printing, will also happen at this desk.

Reference Desk - The Reference Desk is physically connected to the primary Information Desk.  This is where you can go for quick on-demand research support.

Consultation Area - For more in-depth research and writing support, we have a space where you can meet with staff and tutors.  See the "Services" tab for more details.
