El Pais

El Pais is a Spanish newspaper published in several different editions, each of which focuses on news from or relevant to a different part of the world.

There are four editions: Spanish (ESP); Américas (AME); Brasil (BRA); Catalunya (CAT; in Catalan); and English (ENG).

The LIbrary has various historical editions and indexes in print, digital and microfilm, as this catalog search demonstrates. (Newspapers are complicated; do ask a librarian for help.)

Understand your country's media landscape

Look around -- in Library encyclopedias and reference sources as well as the Web -- for information about the media landscape of your country or region. Notice details, and apply the criteria for evaluating sources.  For example, for Argentina, you might start with Argentina Profile (BBC Media) and Media in Argentina (Wikipedia) and then dig deeper into some sources under other tabs on this guide.  The excellent article Media Ownership in Argentina is part of a Cornell Library-licensed online resource, Oxford Scholarship, available to the Cornell community.
