Readex US Government Documents Microform sets

About the Readex US Government Documents Microform Collection

Readex refers to a commercial microform set that reproduces both federal depository and non-depository publications listed in the print volumes of the Government Printing Office (GPO) Monthly Catalog.

Please note: Readex has not been able to provide copies of all the documents that are listed in the Monthly Catalog, especially non-depository items.

Through 2003, the microcard and microfiche sets are filed by the Monthy Catalog entry number, found in the print volumes of the Catalog, in the form of a 2-digit year followed by a number (e.g., 92-1204).

Beginning in 2004, fiche are filed by SUDOC number. (Superintendent of Documents number). Check the online Catalog of U.S. Government Publications for SUDOC number.

The items in this set itself are uncataloged (although collection-level records are included in the online catalog) and housed on the Olin Library, B Level, as follows:

1956 to 1981 Depository Microcard

  • Fiche are filed by the catalog entry number found in the upper left-hand corner of the entry.
  • The filled-in black dot indicates a depository item.

1982 to 2003 Depository Microfiche

Location: Olin Library, B Level, Microform Alcove.
