Use the web in an academic way.

1. Look for bibliographies--lists of resources (books, articles, web sites, etc.) that you can use to find more information on your topice.

In Wikipedia you may find these kinds of lists:

  • References
  • Notes
  • Further Reading
  • External links

2. Look at the url (web address) of the sites that you find. What is the difference between a site that is list as .edu and one that is listed as .com?

3. Use keywords from the sites that you find to create refined searches for more specific information.

4. Use these same keywords in a variety of databases or search engines, like the Library Catalog.
