Tip 1: Your first seach should be a very general keyword search.

Tip 2: •Never use a, an, or the when searching for a title.

Tip 3: Always use the long view to review subject headings.

Tip 4: If a record displays "Networked Resource" as a location, it is usually available online.

The Library Catalog contains records for holdings in all campus libraries: books, journals, visual media, maps, music scores, archival material, etc.  It does NOT contain records for individual articles in journals (use periodical databases to find those). Look for the CRITICISM AND INTERPRETATION sub-heading after the writer's name.

You can also find books on a particular subject by browsing the library stacks in the area in which the Library of Congress Classification number for that subject is shelved. English literature is found in the PR class, American literature in PS.
