What is a league table?
Bloomberg league tables are rankings of the underwriters or legal advisers for the fixed income, equity, equity-linked and syndicated loan markets. You can choose specific search criteria to create your own custom ranking table.

Underwriter League Tables examples
Example 1: Find a ranking of the top underwriters of US IPOs in 2007. What IPOs did Morgan Stanley underwrite?
| Step 1: | LEAG < GO > |
| Step 2: | Go to Select a Market to change the market to Equity & Equity linked> U.S. Equity Offerings. |
| Step 3: | In the amber boxes change year to 2007 and Offer Type to Initial. |
| Step 4: | Click and hold on Morgan Stanley. |
| Step 5: | Notice the amber drop-down menu? Select Securities. The screen splits and you can see the IPOs that Morgan Stanley underwrote. |
Example 2: Find a ranking of the top legal issue advisors for US IPOs in 2007. What IPOs did Skadden et al. advise on?
| Step 1: | LALT < GO > |
| Step 2: | Go to Select a Market to change the market to Equity & Equity linked> U.S. Equity Offerings Issuer Advisers. |
| Step 3: | In the amber boxes change year to 2007 and Offer Type to Initial. |
| Step 4: | Click and hold on Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Select Securities from the amber drop-down menu. The screen splits and you can see the IPOs below. |
M&A League Tables
Example 1: Find the top legal advisors in M&A through a League Table search.
| Step 1: | MA < GO > |
| Step 2: | Select 7) M & A League Table Search. |
| Step 3: | Again let us search for the year 2007 so change Deals for Year to 2007. |
| Step 4: | Select 4) Announced US Deals is in the Legal Advisors column so this is a search for the law firms involved in the M&A; this gives you the legal advisors for the M&A. |
Like before click on the advisor to find out what deals the group has been involved with. You can download this list to Excel by clicking on the Output results to link on the red toolbar.
Example 2: Find the top financial advisors in M&A through a League Table search.
