Research Assignment

Final Essay Assignment:

Get together in small groups over the weekend. For Monday, each group will have researched one case study of cultural change, transnationalism, or globalization, using 2-3 sources. Students will present the topics in class on Monday, and then students can choose one of the presented topics (could be their own, could be someone else's) as the subject of their final paper.

Sample topics include: McDonalds in East Asia, Chinese traditional medicine in America, Indian television serials, etc. At least one source should be academic.

For the final paper, students will write one (6-8 page) paper analyzing one case study in the light of the theory that we have read (and will read) in the class.
