Cornell will participate in the 2017 Wikipedia Art + Feminism Edit-a-thon, which aims to improve coverage of women and the arts on Wikipedia, and to encourage editorship from people of all gender identities. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 11 from 10:00 am-5:00 pm at the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Olin Library, and the Fine Arts Library, for in-person, communal updating of Wikipedia’s entries on art and feminism. The Cornell “node” of Wikipedia Art + Feminism will welcome people to take part in Wikipedia editing and to improve existing entries (the very ambitious can start a page if they would like) during these open house events.
We need your help! As an editor, you can add images, links, citations, and information boxes. You can also translate pages into English from other languages or vice versa. Please help ahead of time by identifying articles that need work and suggesting new articles via our Wikipedia program page. Create a Wikipedia account for yourself if you don’t already have one, then sign up for the event via Wikipedia on the program page. The Facebook event can be found here. Come to a training session to learn about how to edit ahead of time or you can learn how on site: Friday, March 3 from 12:00-1:00 pm in Olin 106g (sign up here)
