Search the Cornell Library Catalog to find over 8 million books, 65,000 journals, magazines, and newspapers, and over 1000,000 digital resources--including specialized subject databases, electronic journals, and e-books.

  • Article Searching & More (Summon)
    Summon is a customized search engine which lets you search across most of Cornell's online resources from a single search box. You will find scholary journal articles, newspaper articles, ebooks, audio files, and video files.
  • Library Guides
    Cornell University librarians created guides to help you with research.
  • Borrow Direct
    A reciprocal-borrowing service from a consortium of many of the Ivy League libraies that provides quick access to over 40 million books.
  • Intelibrary Loan Services
    Provides access to books not available through Borrow Direct, as well as journal articles and other materials that Cornell doesn't own. Submit your request for a book or article, and the Interlibrary Loan staff will work to get the material for you from anywhere around the world.
  • Ask a Librarian
    You can ask your research questions by not only stopping a reference desk in person but also calling, emailing, texting a question or using IM to chat with a librarian 24/7! Our librarians are skilled researchers (many with Ph.D. in their areas of expertise) and can help you find the resources you need.
  • Research Consultation
    You can set up an appointment with a libraian to get help with your research.
