Before you start

Disable any pop-up blockers that your browser or browser toolbars may have activated.

Instructor-level Access

Cornell University faculty members may request a password to obtain instructor privileges.

With instructor privileges, you can:

  • create image groups for students to view and print
  • enable student work folders
  • download image groups into PowerPoint 2007 (beta)
  • build a Personal Collection

To request an instructor password, send an email message to:

Please include "ARTstor Instructor Password Request" in the subject heading and indicate your departmental affiliation.


ARTstor contains over 1 million images in the areas of art, architecture, the humanities, and social sciences. Most (but not all!) of ARTstor's images are of archival or museum materials.  

Register for an ARTstor account

As a member of the Cornell community, you can register for an ARTstor account. The video below takes you through the steps to register.

With an ARTstor account, you have access to a "My Work Folder" to organize & save image groups and add personal notes; also the option to use the Offline Image Viewer (OIV).
