On campus access

During your residencies on campus, or if you visit a Cornell campus between official residencies, you will have the exact same level of access that any other student is offered. You can use public computers, access electronic journals and databases, check out and return books as well as have access to a group of highly-trained, expert subject librarians.

For help accessing any of these services, please contact your EMHRM librarian in advance of your visit (if possible), and they will be glad to assist you.

How to get books delivered

To have books and other print materials held in the library's collection shipped directly to your home or office:

  1. Do a search in the CU Library's catalog.
  2. Send a request (using the request form above) to ilrref@cornell.edu including as much information about the item as possible, preferably including title, author, and/or call number of the book.
  3. A Catherwood librarian will get back with you to verify the requested material is available and can be shipped, as well as the expected shipping date. For books that are held in Catherwood Library, requests will be shipped out generally within 1-2 business days. If it is held in another library on campus, it might take slightly longer.

Loan periods, etc.

Please refer to the CU Library's page concerning library loan periods and access level for Cornell Graduate students.

Note: Because of the length of time required to mail items, you will not be able to borrow Videos, Current Periodicals, or Reserve items.

Should you need any of these items, however, please contact your EMHRM librarian and they will be able to work with you to find similar, alternative materials.
