ASTRO 1110: Exploring Our Cosmos (Fall 2015): Get Started

Where to begin

The following three steps outline the basic process of gathering research for your essays.

  • Find background information on your topic using Wikipedia, AccessScience, or another specialized encyclopedia
  • Identify possible sources for your topic, including books and articles
  • Repeat the process--because you won't everything the first time around (this is not an optional step)

The remaining tabs in this LibGuide will take you through the process of finding and evaluating sources, how to use what you find in your own research papers, and how to ask for help from the library if you get stuck.

Do you live off-campus?

If so, try using PassKey, designed to give Cornell community members access to licensed library resources while they are away from campus.

PassKey does not require any installation: Just click on the link or button below for more information on how to install and use it.
