Introduction

The Library maintains a strong research collection in the subjects of women's political participation, feminism, and sexuality, including sexual lives and erotica, prostitution, sex tourism, reproductive rights, and surrogate mothers. Transgender and lesbian, gay, and bisexual subjects are being collected at a nearly comprehensive level and are supported by extensive primary sources.

The Library supports the interdisciplinary work done on these subjects across many departments and programs and maintains an active connection with the Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies Program and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies Program.

Research Strategy

Research help is available online. See Library Research @ Cornell. For further help with primary source research, see this guide to the Human Sexuality Collection.

This research guide includes only entries for resources dedicated to the topic or those with substantial sections on feminism, gender, or sexuality studies. Many broader resources are available and valuable. Some resources could have been (and sometimes are) included in more than one category, so look beyond categories. See your favorite reference librarian or click on Ask a Librarian for research assistance and advice.
